Volunteers needed for RCV Signature Drive!

RCV-logo-square-2015.jpg We're just over half way on signatures to qualify our Ranked Choice Voting Initiative for the Benton County ballot.  But we still have a long way to go and we really, really need some extra hands to put this over the top

On Sunday-Monday July 3rd and 4th there will be a Riverfront Music Festival in Corvallis. This is a great opportunity for volunteering a couple hours to collect signatures for our historic initiative and then enjoy the music and food.   Contact Blair Bobier 503.559.6176 or [email protected] to get scheduled, trained, and given the materials you need.  Thanks!

New Green Party FAQ page: http://www.gp.org/faq ... here are some of the questions answered:

• Is Jill Stein the Green nominee?
• Will Bernie supporters who "Go Green" be welcome in the Green Party?
• Can Bernie run as a Green if he doesn't win the Democratic nomination?
• Aren't the Green platform and Bernie's platform the same?
• Why does the Green Party nominate candidates for president?
• Shouldn't we vote for the lesser-evil Democrat?

Big time Jill Stein coverage in Rolling Stone and GQ

jill2016.JPG

From the Rolling Stone article: "It's a fallacy that Hillary Clinton is the lesser evil here. Another Clinton in the White House is just going to fan the flames of the right-wing revolt," she says."The lesser evil simply guarantees that the greater evil will be elected in the next election."

"The Green Party candidate rails against corporations and Wall Street. She has a habit of getting arrested—three times in the last election alone. She also happens to be the plan B for a few progressive voters if this whole Bernie thing doesn’t work out. But who is Dr. Stein, really?" ... quote from article in GQ!

The fact that some major media outlets are reporting on Jill Stein's Presidential campaign is a major breakthrough in a time when voters have highly unfavorable views of the two corporate party candidates.

THIRD PARTIES SLAM ELECTIONS DIVISION

Four of Oregon's political parties have sent a joint letter to the Oregon Secretary of State attacking the Elections Division for bias and lack of transparency in sending a notice to non-affiliated voters about party registration.

“This is another example of how the system is stacked against third parties, whether intentional or not,” said Dr. Alan Zundel of the Pacific Green Party. “The notice prominently displayed how to register with a major party while registering with a minor party was left to a small, general aside at the bottom of the page.”
