The Pacific Green Party is saddened to announce the passing of our long-time member, and a giant of the environmental movement, Stu Sugarman. Stu was first and foremost an activist. He was also a lawyer with a giant heart, a quick wit and a sly and self-deprecating sense of humor.

Ranked Choice Voting Initiative Launched!

The Pacific Green Party of Oregon and the Linn/Benton Chapter are launching an initiative campaign in Benton County, Oregon, to elect the County Commissioners and Sheriff by Ranked Choice Voting. A Political Action Committee has been formed, an initiative petition filed, and a website is up (Better Ballot Benton).  The chief petitioners are Dan Rayfield, State Representative for House District 16, and Blair Bobier. Green VICTORY! FERC issues decision to deny Jordan Cove LNG permit

Call for Youth Caucus vote on Co-sponsorship of the GPUS Economic Democracy Platform Amendment

A few weeks ago, the Young Greens proposed an amendment to the Green Party's platform that rejects capitalism in favor of more sustainable, just, and democratic economic models. After hearing comments via email, our website, and Facebook, the YGUS Steering Committee has unanimously endorsed the proposal, and calls on all Young Greens to lobby their state’s National Committee members to vote to pass the amendment.
