There are two levels of membership in the Pacific Green Party of Oregon: regular and supporting.

Regular Membership

A regular member is anyone who has listed “Pacific Green” as their party affiliation on their Oregon voter registration.

Regular members have the right to vote on who the PGP nominates for public offices.

Voter registration is handled by the Oregon Secretary of State.

All members are encouraged to join one or more of our electronic mailing lists. The most common choice is the statewide announcement list, which sends out no more than one message per week. The announcement list is a good way to find out about upcoming PGP conventions, at which nominations for public office are made.

Members are also encouraged to contact their local chapter.

Supporting Membership

A supporting member is a regular member who has also (a) signed a statement of support for the Ten Key Values of the Pacific Green Party, and (b) contributed either money or time (6 hours / year) to the party. The required financial contribution is on a sliding scale, based on the member’s income:

Low Income Medium Income High Income
$25 / year $50 / year $100 / year

Supporting members have all of the rights of regular members. Furthermore, beginning at the second meeting attendend, a supporting member may vote on internal matters, such as the election of State Coordinating Committee members.

Supporting members may donate money or volunteer online. Such donations may be made to either the state party or a local chapter. Volunteer time should be reported to a local chapter or to the state Internal Coordinations Coordinator, Chris Henry (chenry@pdx.edu).
