Minutes 5/21/10

Present: Mike, Michael, Suzia, Charles

Previous meetings minutes, as amended per Charles suggested correction, approved.

Treasurer's report unavailable in Pat's absence. Mike will contact Pat regarding a report for the June convention.

Convention planning -- approved George Hutchinson as facilitator. Michael will again invite Chuck Fall to attend as a back-up facilitator in the event circumstances require George step aside at any point. Matt Switzer will present information on the Oregon Cannabis Tax Act initiative at the convention. In the meantime, Charles and Mike will act as his contact points for materials to be distributed. Matt will provide new text. Mike is to forward information to our appropriate lists. SCC endorsed this effort. Michael will contact Seth to see if he can provide PGP registration list to Matt. Mike will provide Matt's contact information to Michael. Charles will
send Matt information on campus chapters, as well as contact information for bands who might perform at a free festival.

Mike proofread and approved convention postcard, will check with mailing service to assure it is/was sent.

SCC reaffirmed we will not participate in the Oregon Freedom Festival.

We agreed to bring the "critical issues" list/candidate pledge to the convention.

Michael reported on the 3rd pre-primary candidate's debate in the 3rd district, which was poorly attended. There were about 100 people in attendance for Allison Weir's appearance at the Portland Public Library, at which Michael was introduced as the candidate who would be most likely to take an unbiased position on Palestinian/Israeli differences.
