Convention nominates Henry, Meo for congress

Chris Henry was nominated for the 1st congressional district, and Michael Meo for the 3rd congressional district, at the Pacific Green Party state convention at Metanoia Peace House in Portland on January 16.

In other business, Chris Mason was selected as a delegate to the Green Party of the United States to replace Diana Carsten of Corvallis, who was recently injured in a fall.

During the afternoon session, Portland City Commission candidate Ed Garren, who has been endorsed by the Portland Metro Chapter, addressed the convention, and Mr. Meo delivered a talk entitled "Democratic Party Commitment to Endless War."

The convention also addressed the question of candidates' ability to accept campaign contributions from labor unions, and settled on proposed language for a bylaws change to be considered by a future convention.
