State Co-ordinating Committee Meeting, 11 July 2010

Pacific Green Party of Oregon
State Co-ordinating Committee Meeting, 11 July 2010
Minutes

Present: Suzia AufderHeide, Tristin Mock, Seth Woolley, Michael Meo

Minutes of Previous Meeting: Approved without objection.

Status of Approval of IRV: Seth reported. The Portland Metro Chapter is doing canvassing around the topic. It would be desirable to include other sections of the state in the effort. One step toward that would be the draft of a resolution to be offered in several jurisdictions in common. We spoke of simultaneous efforts within Lane County and the cities of Ashland, Eugene, and Portland.

State Convention: Michael reported on the request of Walt Brown to run for US Senator in place of state treasurer. The selection of a date for the state convention to nominate a candidate for US Senator was affected by by desire to allow for other candidates, possibly for Governor, to come forward, but also to allow as much time as possible for gathering signatures for a petition to add the candidate's statement to the Voter's Pamphlet. The date of Saturday, July 31st was adopted by consensus.

Alternative to Paypal: Seth reported that he will investigate the pricing. Until he has more detail, he will suspend his proposal to switch.

Campaigns: Tristin inquired whether the Party had received any request for cross-nomination. In fact, responded Michael, the State Representative Justin Bailey's (D - 42) campaign manager had this week asked for the cross-nomination procedure. Seth suggested Michael wait on responding until after consultation with our own nominee Chris Extine.

Meeting Time: Change of meeting time to Sunday evening at 7 pm adopted without objection.

New Mexico Request: Postponed until next meeting.

Next week: Michael will facilitate; Charles Newlin will take notes.
