occupy everything
it's a transitive verb
occupy:
means
1: to engage the attention
or energies of....
in my life,
things that have
engaged my energies
include
the vietnam war
a returning boyfriend
soul lost in war
v.a. hospital calls the fbi
we are investigated.
he dies in his parents car
the one whose electronic functions
ceased when he was around
after war.
he carefully puts
the noxious exhaust
back into the car
and he slowly turns blue.
he cannot live with
what war has
forced upon his hands
his folks
shave his hair
they take his hippie beads
and put him in a
north carolina grey suit
rigor mortis set in
at his penis.
And, i reel.
Occupy the sacred
occupy2a :
to take up (a place or extent in space)
as he dies
we agree that his return
would be as my son.
his return is glorious,
the birth is easy
my heart sings
our relationship is
changed forever.
he occupies me in a new way.
occupy2b :
to take or fill (an extent in time)
i make other vows
vows of poverty
no money, no taxes
no taxes, no war.
i do not register the birth
i will not let the government
have my children.
the children hate the poverty
they go without shoes
my heart is clean.
the children do not understand
the importance of
their sacrifice.
Occupy gratitude
occupy 3a :
to take or hold possession or control of
later
another vietnam vet
marries our family.
he punches my head
the temple of my being
every month
i see the demons of war
around him
they are the ghouls of war
too close to the children
this war stuff
but
i have become his family
a sacred vow
i must stand beside him
while
these ghouls fade out.
the beatings continue
i cannot wait.
he must be dragged away
the children and i
are alone
our poverty increases.
Occupy the golden rule
occupy 3b :
to fill or perform the functions of
(an office or position)
as a mother
with open conscience
learning
that being excluded
in thought
and word
and deed
is the lonely road.
we walk separate
from the mass of humanity
who
believes in the valor
of hurting others
(especially when socially
predicated).
This aloneness is a gift
it is a blessing
it is not for the weak of heart.
i ask myself now
how many millions of times
did i disarm
my sons and daughter
and their friends
of weapons
homemade and manufactured?
how much ridicule
comes
when we refuse
to march the war
refusing to sing the
death knell lyrics?
Occupy the golden rule
occupy4:
to reside in as an owner or tenant
as an owner of this earth
i believe that i must occupy
with conscience
with clarity
with wisdom and
with honesty
and most important
with humility.
for though i am an owner
i share this earth
with so many others
most of whom
do not speak english
do not speak.
if i am responsible
i am their steward.
and
because occupy is a transitive verb it must have an object
what to occupy towards?
what to occupy next?
Please consider:
guerrilla gardens
guerilla gardens
guerilla gardens
third, third, third parties
(the one percent owns the other two)
and
a clean heart,
a clear mind
and a soft soul.
And we will occupy as we go forward.
Occupy conscience
occupy life
occupy gratitude
