Place: Corvallis, Oregon, at Westminster House, 101 NW 23rd St. & Monroe St.

Time: Doors Open at 8:30am for registration and greetings; Meeting begins at 9:30am

Topic: Electoral Strategy for 2010

Morning Session (9:30pm): Internal Elections and Strategies

  1. Facilitator's Introduction (10 min)
  2. Green Party of the United States Representative National Committee Report (10 min)
  3. Electing a new State Coordinating Committee member and a new National Representative, preferably female for gender balance. (30 min)
  4. Electoral Strategy
    1. Fusion: presentation by Portland group advocating a multi-party slate. (60 min)
    2. break (10 min)
    3. Which Races? (Party is committed to contesting the Senate race.) (60 min)

Lunch: 12:30pm

Afternoon Session (1:45pm): Presentations and Candidates

  1. Presentation: Corvallis Sustainability Coalition (Mike Beilstein) (45 min)
  2. Fundraising and Registration Drive (60 min)
  3. Presenting new Green City Councillor: Mark Camara, Toledo.
  4. Presentation by Senatorial Search Committee (Mike Van Handel, Charles Newlin)
  5. Finding Candidates; presenting potential candidates (Mike Van Handel, Charles Newlin)
  6. Rebuilding party committee structure and recruiting campaign managers and treasurers
  7. Open Space / Additional Discussion (As determined by convention)

Finding Westminster House

From I-5: Cross Willamette Bridge on rt. 34 then continue straight on Harrison Blvd.

From North: Entering on 99w, turn right on Harrison at light.

From South: from 99W, turn left on Harrison.

All: then turn left on 23rd. It’s just a few blocks, on left, a Tudor-style building with own parking lot.

From West on US20: turn left on 53rd St, then right on Harrison at 4-way stop. Turn right on 23rd St., then as above.

Because the convention is on the same day as the Corvallis Fall Festival and an OSU home game, we will only have five reserved parking spots. Locals are asked to bicycle and carpool.  Carpools can drop off their passengers and will be directed to park at a separate location by George Hutchinson in units of five.
