Latinx Caucus Condemns the Killing of a Legal Observer by ICE Agents in Minneapolis

The Green Party Latinx Caucus condemns the killing of a legal observer by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

Renee Nicole Good was shot at point-blank range while sitting in a car, in front of her spouse. After the shooting, ICE agents blocked a doctor from providing medical aid. This killing and the denial of care demand a direct and serious response.

ICE enforcement has brought fear, separation, and death to Minnesota. These actions harm immigrant and refugee families and echo across the Latino diaspora. Communities live with trauma and loss as a result of aggressive enforcement practices.

This incident shows what happens when state power goes unchecked. A community defender lost her life while protecting the rights of others. No public agency should operate without accountability or consequence.

We reject procedural delays and hollow assurances. We demand consequences, full stop. ICE must leave Minnesota immediately.

We demand ICE leave all American cities.

The Green Party Latinx Caucus stands in solidarity with South Minneapolis and with immigrant and refugee communities facing these attacks. We recognize and support community members who continue to organize, protest, and defend basic rights.

Green Party Condemns Trump Attack On Venezuela

The Green Party condemns the kidnapping of the Venezuelan President and his wife and demands their immediate release. We strongly oppose this illegal act of war which violates both the US Constitution and international law. Congress needs to immediately commence impeachment proceedings against Trump.

The Party also harshly reacted to the assertion by Trump that the United States will now be running Venezuela for the near term and if he faces any local opposition, he will send in a second wave of American military forces to subdue the population.

The Party urges the Senate to vote on the resolution scheduled for next week to halt military intervention. The bipartisan resolution only needs a majority to pass.

In 1964, Malcolm X issued a warning to America: we are taking liberation - whether through elections or uprisings. Again, the USA finds itself at a crossroads; the people are fed up. We must direct our organizing efforts to be ready for any and all contingencies. In this weekend intensive we will develop the understanding and collective power to advance liberation in this moment, by any means necessary.
