Meet Oregon's New Green Judge

Pacific Green Party member Matt Donohue has been appointed by Governor John Kitzhaber to fill a vacancy on the Benton County bench. Donohue is currently serving his second term on the Corvallis School Board.

"Matt Donohue is a dedicated public servant and will make an excellent judge. The Governor made a great choice and is to be commended for rising above party politics to pick the best person for the position,” said Blair Bobier, a Benton County lawyer who ran against Kitzhaber in 1998.

Donohue works for the Oregon Department of Justice as a trial lawyer and he previously served as a law clerk for both the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court.

Donohue’s selection is further proof of the rise of the Pacific Green Party and of the designation of Corvallis as the Greenest City in Oregon. Corvallis has two Green City Council members; one of whom, Richard Hervey, was recently elected by his colleagues as the Council President.
