Party Affiliation: Progressive Party

Why do you want to pursue this role? What interests you about it? What are the top issues you're campaigning on?

I want to make Oregon the happiest and healthiest place on earth. I have been an RN for six years from 2002-2008. Since 2005 I have been working for no war, fair trade, and full political and economic rights. I have pronoia. It is when you believe everyone in the world is out to help you. My vision for the world is to see everyone achieve a PH. D, work 16 hours a week for money in a job that brings them joy and bliss, and that helps the world self-actualize, gaining as much knowledge and compassion as possible. The Green Party and You - Please choose one of the 10 Key Values and tell us what it means to you.

Nonviolence.

I see non-violence as an iceberg. 1/3 of the iceberg above water is the absence of violence and 2/3 of the iceberg is underwater that you cannot see and all the work that goes into creating a non-violence action and society. It is my religion to want self-actualization, the most knowledge and compassion for all sentient beings, and all non-sentient beings to be treated by master craftsmen. I grew up in a pacifist religion as a Mennonite, a sect of the Amish. I now call myself a Unitarian Universalist; I love all compassionate religions. Love should center our being and all our actions. All children should grow up learning about altruism from a very young age. I do not have any enemies, only unenlightened friends. My mantra is to treat all people as Gods and hate their actions when they are not self-actualized, not themselves. I want to rehabilitate everyone like in Norway }. No one should be abused in jails. We should not abuse the abusers. Beating a horse does not make it better. Diplomacy should be our first choice, not war or military action. Oregon’s national guard should only be used within Oregon, and never to enforce federal law. We need to take care of each other. We need single-payer universal health care for all to start with, a school system that teaches empathy in all grades, non-violent peace-making police, guaranteed basic income, free university as far as you want to go, and mental health wards where everyone is rehabilitated, instead of jails . For Oregon, we need to create a system of public banks in order to benefit ourselves, instead of using our financial resources to profit Wall Street Banks. Public banks could be a first step in creating affordable housing for all. We should be looking at creating public power systems (Public utility districts) with the main source of power being renewable energy, like solar and wind. We all need to be artists to our souls and create an ambient environment for it, with all the magical things in the world that there are. I want people to be happy. Be in awe of the seeds that grow, treat every square inch of the world as a bonsai tree, with care. Make art everywhere we go and have an artists’ eye. We should be memorizing poetry, dancing instead of walking and singing instead of talking. That would be a start.

Yes.

Anything else?

I am proud that our state is a sanctuary state, but we need more public servants to vet asylum seekers when they seek shelter in the USA and follow international law. Immigrants are not criminals. Due process must be accorded all residents, criminals or not, immigrate or citizen. In addition, we need a path to citizenship for all immigrants and not have immigrants tethered to their employer with a visa, as an employer could easily abuse their workers with only visas to work.
