Name: Jason Wright
Seeking the nomination for Governor of Oregon.
Party Affiliation: Pacific Green Party
When I moved to Oregon and registered to vote, I decided to go with the PGP because of my "Pacific Pride", indigenous heritage and connections, and the change from the "usual" Green Party choice.
Home: Corvallis
Why do you want to pursue this role? What interests you about it? What are the top issues you're campaigning on?
I have noted the failures of the previous and current administrations and do not wish to see this haven of green be destroyed by inept leadership. As Governor, I would have the ability to direct agencies to perform the tasks and services we all, as Oregon residents, deserve. The government should serve the people, and I wish to spearhead the return to this way of being, here in our home. I see infrastructure, education, health (both the systems AND services), equity, and affordability as the top issues facing the average Oregon residents today. As Governor, these would be the lead issues I work to address, if elected.
The Green Party and You - Please choose one of the 10 Key Values and tell us what it means to you.
Future focus and Sustainability would be my personal Lead Green Value.
This is because it encompasses all the myriad aspects of life and society. From equity and equality, to climate and business..... without regard for the future generations, the work for the "here and now" is insane (pointless).
Do you support the Green Party's position on universal healthcare nationally and/or statewide/?

Yes. Yes to both Statewide AND use as a National Model.
Do you support the Green Party's position on BDS, and Palestinian rights?

Yes. I do, however that is more of an International and National topic / issue , not really good to campaign on statewide.
Do you support ranked choice voting or similar voting reform?
Yes. I voted for it and was saddened to see the Dems successfully counter-narrative killed it. Being that it only barely didn't pass, I would gladly do what I could as Governor, if elected, to bring this issue back to the voters in a truly honest light.
Anything else?
Being from California, I have seen the chaos and disparity that has enveloped it. I do not want that for Oregon, and I see that it is currently in a precariously close position to the precipice of that seemingly bottomless pit. I wish to put on the brakes, so to speak, and get us all away from the edge ... Before we start downhill, not after
I have managed Green campaigns in CA and have led a socio-political movement (grassroots) with roughly 20 million people being influenced by my words and deeds. . . My leadership.
I also started a business entity based on creating a socially built and based economy which would have grown into an international endeavor, had there not been a hostile business takeover.
Being that I understand business, economics, and the cannabis industry (both recreational and medical), I wish to help Oregon fix the problems which have been allowed to fester under the current administration.
As a German, Irish, and Cherokee descended person, who was also adopted into the Oglala Lakota People, I feel great pride whenever I see my indigenous brothers and sisters in the community. I wish to see a more complete diversification of our society to truly include indigenous peoples, cultures, practices, and beliefs.
Ya'Ta'he!
