It has recently been reported that Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, a vocal proponent of Ukraine's European integration, made huge contributions to the Clinton Foundation, while Hillary Clinton was the US Secretary of State. Among individual donors contributing to the Clinton Foundation in the period between 1999 and 2014, Ukrainian sponsors took first place in the list, providing the charity with almost $10 million. The recent "game of thrones" in Ukraine has been apparently instigated by a few powerful clans - Nuland and Kagan come to mind - of the US and Ukraine, who are evidently benefitting from the ongoing turmoil. In this light the Clinton Foundation looks like something more than just a charity: in today's world of fraudulent oligopoly we are facing with global cronyism, experts point out, warning against its devastating consequences.
Read the article in Eugene Register Guard about Senator Merkley's gift to the timber industry. In the 1980's it's agreed by most forest biologists not funded by the logging industry, that there was mass over-cutting of the forests in the Pacific Northwest. This O&C clear cutting bill is a gift to the timber industry at the cost of the people, clean water, air, biodiversity and long term economic health.

May 18th Associated Press article published online May 2014 on the status: basically the worst cleanup work still remains to be done with half of the money going to "operate" the facility instead of being used to actually clean anything up This comes on top of the ongoing DENIAL of worker's compensation to seriously ill Hanford workers, which should be a huge scandal.
From the Guardian/UK but reported in Common Dreams "Obama's Epic Fail on Equal Pay: LGBT Need Not Apply? Executive actions are great. But not when they exclude millions. And especially when they don't live up to promises ... this represents an embarrassing stain on the Obama record. He promised to sign the executive order over six years ago. Yet he's still dilly dallying while his representatives continue to make up reasons for why he refuses to sign it. Each one lamer than the last."

“This announcement is exactly what Coos Bay, North Bend and America need: new jobs and new investment, while factoring in a changed geopolitical landscape through a case-by-case process."
In the wake of the Fukushima disaster and its impacts on land, sea and air, we redouble our stance against all nuclear development and deployment. The dangers are just too great for all of us and for the ground beneath our feet.
