Hillary Clinton's ties with Ukranian Oligarchs

330px-Hillary_Clinton_official_Secretary_of_State_portrait_crop.jpg   It has recently been reported that Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, a vocal proponent of Ukraine's European integration, made huge contributions to the Clinton Foundation, while Hillary Clinton was the US Secretary of State. Among individual donors contributing to the Clinton Foundation in the period between 1999 and 2014, Ukrainian sponsors took first place in the list, providing the charity with almost $10 million.   The recent "game of thrones" in Ukraine has been apparently instigated by a few powerful clans - Nuland and Kagan come to mind - of the US and Ukraine, who are evidently benefitting from the ongoing turmoil. In this light the Clinton Foundation looks like something more than just a charity: in today's world of fraudulent oligopoly we are facing with global cronyism, experts point out, warning against its devastating consequences.

Michael Meo jailed while on hunger strike

 1417481579-meo.jpg

It's midnight and I got out a few hours ago from being held for the last six days in the County Jail in downtown Portland, three of them is a bare cell, naked with a single blanket. This is because I have continued to fast for police accountability and have been sitting in a chair in the waiting room of the Mayor's Office in City Hall (from which I have now thrice been arrested).

Oregon needs a New Vision

brian_setzler.jpg

By Brian Setzler, MBA, CPA.

The old vision, the one this country was founded on, doesn’t work. The human race is having a lethal impact upon the world. Lakes are dying, seas are dying, forests are dying, the land itself is dying – for reasons directly traceable to our activities. As many as a hundred and forty species are vanishing every day—for reasons directly traceable to our activities.

The old vision, grow.

Green Party Election Results 2014 Summary

logo-of-the-gpusa_square_weblogo_0.png   The Green Party made several advances in the 2014 general election on November 4, with Green candidates winning 27 seats and ballot lines held for most state Green Parties.

The most closely watched Green races were in Richmond, California, where outgoing Mayor Gayle McLaughlin overcame a $3-million campaign by Chevron to defeat her slate, and New York, where Howie Hawkins challenged incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

"We thank and congratulate all our candidates for running this year and helping the Green Party grow," said Starlene Rankin, co-chair of the Green Party of the United States. Click here to read the full Green Party 2014 election result press release.

Wyden pushes water, logging bills

Wyden.jpg

Read the article in Eugene Register Guard about Senator Merkley's gift to the timber industry. In the 1980's it's agreed by most forest biologists not funded by the logging industry, that there was mass over-cutting of the forests in the Pacific Northwest. This O&C clear cutting bill is a gift to the timber industry at the cost of the people, clean water, air, biodiversity and long term economic health.
